Cambridge and London Food Guide

with No Comments

Cambridge is currently a fast-developing tech city and that means that more and more people with a greater diversity of tastes are moving in. As a result, Cambridge has quite a variety of cuisines and restaurants available. I included London in this guide as well since people usually do day trips to Cambridge. I didn’t get to visit many restaurants, but the ones I got to go to were all pretty good due to my excellent research skills *cough*. Here is a short guide to some of the restaurants I got to visit during my short stay there!

Cambridge

Fitzbillies

A great place to sit down and relax before or after class. They have lots of cool pastries, sandwiches, and drinks here. It was a favorite of students when I was studying in Cambridge.

Try: Chelsea Bun, Berry Macaron Sundae

Address: 51 – 52 Trumpington St, Cambridge CB2 1RG, United Kingdom

6 Ice Cream

Homemade ice cream with different flavors each day!

Address: 6 Benet St, Cambridge CB2 3QN

Aromi

The best gelato in town..the best everything in town. Definitely check out their pizzas or paninis! It’s worth the wait.

Address: 1 Bene’t St, Cambridge CB2 3QN, United Kingdom

Pho

My go-to place on rainy days. I actually like their spring rolls more than their pho but everything is good quality!

Address: 1 Wheeler St, Cambridge CB2 3QB, United Kingdom

Little Seoul

One of the only Korean restaurant in Cambridge, Little Seoul offers some of the basic Korean dishes you really start to crave. Lunch prices are better than dinner ones so it’s recommended to come here at lunch! The restaurant is located down a flight of stairs and the entrance is red.

Address: 08 Regent St, Cambridge CB2 1DP, United Kingdom

Seoul Plaza

A really small but well stocked Korean market to get all your snacking and kimchi needs. Don’t be like that unnamed person that ate a whole carton of kimchi without a meal though because you’ll face the consequences no matter how much you’re missing home.

Address: 91-93 Mill Rd, City Centre, Cambridge CB1 2AW, United Kingdom

The Cambridge Chop House

A favorite of tourists and for people to catch up with friends, The Cambridge Chop House offers up well proportioned meals right across from King’s College’s gatehouse. Serving British fare here!

Address: 1 King’s Parade, Cambridge CB2 1SJ, United Kingdom

Harriet’s

A chainstore tearoom available in Cambridge where you can enjoy some traditional afternoon tea.

Address: 16-17 Green St, Cambridge CB2 3JU, UK

The Eagle Pub

This is where DNA was discovered (basically)! Come here to experience some good ol’ British pub life. Catch up with friends over a beer or ask the bartenders for a recommendation. There are also lots of yummy food offerings here! The Eagle Pub is located right around the corner in front of King’s College.

Address: 8 Benet Street, Cambridge CB2 3QN, UK

Hot Numbers

Across the street from the Engineering Building and the Architecture Building, Hot Numbers is a favorite of Cambridge students for some in between class snacking and coffee drinking. Bright interiors and comfortable seating for studying.

Address: 5/6, Dales Brewery, Gwydir St, Cambridge CB1 2LJ, UK

Bread & Meat

Delicious sandwiches served here!

Address: 4 Bene’t St, Cambridge CB2 3QN, UK

Arang

The best Korean food I’ve had so far in London (not that I have a lot of Korean food while there). The prices are reasonable and the portions are similar to the portions you usually get in Korea or California which is rare.
